At the individual, community, and national levels, we examined the findings. The study's findings reveal that coping behaviors are reliant on government-established policies and individual methods of response, impacting occupational and leisure activities, inducing psychological effects, highlighting resourcefulness and showing social implications, especially concerning unity. Intersectoral partnerships are uniquely positioned to co-produce 'synergistic' solutions to public health problems, solutions which would be beyond the scope of any single organization. The attainment of synergy hinges on partners' collaborative efforts in equitable co-construction and shared decision-making. Unfortunately, many partnerships find it challenging to fully harness the combined strengths that synergy offers. Leveraging the Bergen Model of Collaborative Functioning, this study seeks to illuminate optimal partnership synergy by examining the interplay between the 'inputs' to the shared mission and partner resources. Introducing the concept of 'dependency structure' allows us to focus on how input interactions influence the power balance, thereby affecting the potential for shared decision-making and co-creation. These findings are substantiated by qualitative data collected from 27 interviews, 10 focus groups, and observations of meetings and partnership documents within 10 Danish intersectoral health promotion partnerships. Eight distinct types of 'input resources', were found to substantially shape the probable power balance between collaborating partners, affecting their respective productivity. Although, the interlinked system that appeared—and its potential for combined efforts—was reliant on how these inputs functioned in conjunction with the partnership's mission. The outcomes of our research indicate a clearly articulated shared mission serves three purposes: (i) highlighting a collective goal, (ii) aligning the individual objectives of each partner, and (iii) motivating joint activity. The evolution of a unified mission across all three functions within partnerships was critical in creating a balanced dependency structure where collaborators recognized their interdependence, leading to the promotion of collective decision-making. Early and sustained dialogue was instrumental in co-creating the partnership's mission, thereby maximizing the potential for synergistic collaboration.

From 2003, when the first walkability scale was introduced, person-environment fit models and research, some of which has been documented in Health Promotion International, have centered on the concept of 'neighborhood walkability' and its relationship to healthy communities. While neighborhood walkability has been shown to correlate positively with health behaviors and outcomes, recent models lack sufficient consideration of the vital contributions of psychosocial and personal elements in maintaining aging in place. As a result, the process of creating scales to quantify human factors within ecosystems has not fully encompassed the critical aspects necessary for the senior population. Through an analysis of relevant literature, we seek to develop a more thorough model, to be called Socially Active Neighborhoods (SAN), that will better accommodate the aging-in-place needs of the elderly population. A comprehensive narrative review, informed by a systematic literature search, defines the parameters of SAN and explores its implications across gerontology, health promotion, and psychometric evaluation. While neighborhood walkability is typically measured and understood in a limited way, SAN expands on this by incorporating psychosocial factors, informed by critical theory, such as social dynamics and personal flourishing. Infrastructure in neighborhoods, when designed for safety and accessibility, empowers older adults with physiological and cognitive limitations to stay active, socially connected, and healthy in their later years. Our adaptation of key person-environment models, including the Context Dynamics in Aging (CODA) framework, resulted in the SAN, a framework that values the crucial role of context in healthy aging.
